How to fix up your games browser

Difficulty: Easy | Needed: Windows Vista or 7, VGEE | Steps: 7

Sick of having a crappy looking Games Browser? Well I’ll tell you how to add all your games and add boxart and the like to all of them. I’ll be demonstrating the guide on Windows 7 but the guide will apply to Vista users.

1) Open your Games Explorer by going to Games in the start menu. Some games will be here, others not. If there is a game that hasn’t been put in the Games Explorer, drag the shortcut into the browser. Once all the games you have are in the browser, close it.

2) Download Vista Game Explorer Editor here. Install the program, then run it.

3) Upon opening a message will appear telling you the VGEE has been run for the first time. Click OK. The next screen to pop up will be one that tells you all the games installed that have acquired boxart from the internet. If you have no games in the list then you cannot progress with the guide. If there is a game in the list, choose it then click next. Then choose AllGame.com as your boxart provider.

4) Click Load Game Information on the top panel. Then choose a game that’s in your Game Browser that doesn’t have boxart, then click Edit. I’ll choose Empire Total War to demonstrate on.

5) Fill out all the information you want. To get boxart, click the Find Box Art button to go to allgame.com and browse for the game you have and download the boxart. Then you’ll need to click browse next to Box Art to find the image you just downloaded.

6) Once all the info you want is filled out click the Update Game Information button on the top panel.

7) Open up the Games Explorer and admire the work you’ve done. Repeat steps 4-6 for all the games you have.
