Microsoft ditches Windows 7 E

The ballot screen microsoft suggested last week

After all the fuss, it now looks like there won’t be a Windows 7 E and European customers will buy the same version of Windows as everyone else.

Originally Microsoft was going to include no browser at all in Windows 7 E, and then they were going to include a “browser ballot screen“.

Today (or more accurately, 2009-07-31 15:00 UTC) Firefox has reached a new milestone: one billion downloads.  It’s come quite a long way since November 9, 2004 when Firefox 1.0 was released. Now, almost 5 years later, Firefox has a browser market share of around 30 percent, looking at statcounter, and one of the largest add-on communities I’ve seen.

You might have heard or seen info on the ASUS Eee Keyboard and it’s release date for later this month, but one modder on eee-pc.ru just couldn’t wait to get his hands on one, so he made his own out of an EeePC 900

He stripped down the netbook and shoved all the parts into a wooden casing under the keyboard, minus the screen and battery. His Eee Keyboard features the 900 MHz processor, 1GB RAM and 20GB SSD + WiFi found in the netbook, and while the real Eee Keyboard offers some more beefier specs, this is still a great effort on the part of the modder.
